We are a group of photographers from the UK – we set up The Dark Room in 2013 to be a source of information and inspiration for Photographers of all abilities. Visit our Facebook Page, find us on Twitter or share your images with us on Instagram! We run weekly ‘Theme’ challenges on Facebook and feature amazing talent! We also have a very friendly community forum on Facebook where you can ask questions about any aspect of photography - our members are from all walks of life, with varying levels of knowledge and ability. And, new for 2016, we want to feature work from photographers partaking in a 52 challenge {some of us will be joining in too!}.

JAMIE SIA OF WWW.JAMIESIA.CO.UK Hi!  My name is Jamie, I live in Leeds but am a UK and destination, Lifestyle and Wedding photographer. I was born in Malaysia and came to England when I was 6 years old. I live with my beautiful wife, an adorable daughter and the cutest son any one could ask for. I have always had a passion for taking photos from a very early age and since getting my first camera I was considered to be very snap happy. I have for the past few years been honing the snap happy skills to something I believe is refined, creative and natural. I love getting involved in my work and give full dedication to get something unique and something to remember. I started out my professional career photographing families, which I love dearly. My biggest passion is wedding photography. There is something special about being involved in such a milestone in people’s lives. And being able to capture all those amazing moments on camera is so exciting. I like to come away from a wedding like I was part of the family and not someone who was paid to be there. You will very rarely see me not smiling on a shoot, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I show my happiness through my photography.

SARAH MORRIS OF WWW.SARAHMPHOTOGRAPHY.CO.UK Hello, I’m Sarah, I live in the Essex countryside with my 3 boys. I’m fairly good at cartwheels, climbing trees and cleaning up lego. I like to think I’ve always had a creative streak, but without a doubt, it’s my boys that have kicked off my photography journey. Through capturing their adventures growing up, I have developed a real affection with documentary style photography.  I have a passion for capturing people engaging with each other, rather than the camera. Inspiration for me, comes from everyday moments and telling a story through a photograph. Its a real treat to be part of such a supportive community at TDR and also to be inspired by such incredible work from photographers worldwide, everyday!
